The College
of Chemical Pathologists of Sri Lanka (CCPSL) is
an academic body formed in 2015 October as a
result of a series of discussions among all
Chemical Pathologists during that time for the
purpose of promoting the advancement of Chemical
Pathology and disseminate the clinical and
technical knowledge in Chemical Pathology among
its members and other related groups to ensure
the best patient-care.
The first College president was late Dr.
Meliyanthi Gunatillaka and the inaugural meeting
of the College was held on the 4th of March 2016
at Galadari Hotel, Colombo. This was followed by
the 1st Annual Scientific Meeting that consisted
of lectures by overseas and local experts in the
field of Chemical Pathology and related
disciplines.
Initially the address of National Hospital of
Sri Lanka was used as the official postal
address of the College. The council meetings
were held at pathology auditorium of National
Hospital of Sri Lanka or at any other suitable
premises depending on the office bearers of the
councils.
It was a long felt need that the College should
have a separate office, at a suitable location.
The college moved to current official address
towards latter half of year 2018 and moved to a
separate office room in 15th of March 2021
According to the constitution of the College, a
